Alliance vivace sets come in 3 tension:

• Medium-Light 800ML (mi E loop) and 800MLB (mi E ball)
• Medium 800M (mi E loop) and 800MB (mi E ball)
• High 800F (mi E loop) and 800FB (mi E ball)

The CORELLI ALLIANCE VIVACE strings are the result of a know-how in the process of the composite fibre for the core of the string combined with high characteristics metals.

Research and Technology

Corelli is the only one to master these materials and to have the sufficient knowledge to adapt the ALLIANCE KF composite fibre to the use of harmonic strings for guitar, lute, harp, violin, viola and for double bass. In fact, CORELLI has been able to solve the technological problems first inherent to the material in order to guarantee the technological and acoustic quality of these one of a kind strings.

• - obtaining a sufficient tensile strength so that the string would not break when tightened on the instrument ;
• - mastery of the elasticity and elongation parameters which determine the best tonal quality and ease of playing ;
• - control of the geometrical regularity of the diameter for a perfect intonation (thanks to a very specific and sophisticated extrusion technology).

Caracteristics

Although wound on a composite fibre core, CORELLI ALLIANCE VIVACE strings offer:

• all the acoustic qualities and characteristics of the best gut strings,
• all the advantages inherent in the composite fibre, i.e perfect keeping in tune whatever temperature and humidity grade are, prolonged life span while keeping the high qualities of the string

For all these reasons CORELLI ALLIANCE VIVACE strings represent the best alternative to gut strings providing many advantages nobody dared to believe in.

REMARKS/IMPORTANT :

The extreme sensibility of the Alliance KF fibres, the core of the string is made up, make the string very sensible to tension.

Therefore the choice of the right diameter is essential to increase the balance accuracy of the violin as well as a clear and clean sound.

Our recommendation is for each note to try all the three available diameters even if the first diameter tried seems to fit. Although there is a slight difference between the different diameters, our experience shows that a slightly higher or lower diameter, i.e. tension, can bring notably improved results in the balance between the strings and the instrument but also in sound and response.

The choice of the diameter can also have a positive effect on the life span of the string. It's still more especially true for viola than for violin since there is a great variety of viola instruments and the balance of some of these instruments is still more delicate.

Due to their characteristics, the CORELLI ALLIANCE VIVACE strings harmonized perfectly and can easily be mixed either with gut strings or with nylon strings.

2 - CORELLI CRYSTAL Strings

Characteristics

Although wound on a nylon core, Corelli Crystal strings position in the top-of-the-range product thanks to the STABILON multifilament specially elaborated to provide the optimum characteristics of elasticity and elongation necessary for the manufacturing of strings for bowed instruments. Our know-how has allowed us to develop a very high quality wound on nylon string that offers a classic sound and does not have the usual nylon sound, a sound which is a bit hard and aggressive. We managed to give these strings a natural warm and nevertheless rich tone.

The nylon we use is obtained from a very special molecule. It is subject to special treatments exclusive to Corelli which provide it with the best characteristics. As a result the strings offer the best sounding qualities, which distinguish these strings and give them an outstanding personality as well a high quality of playing.

Regular research and work focused on each quality of the string, regularly lead to improvements without changing the acoustic qualities of the string. Recent discoveries now enable us to present significant improvements of the reliability and life span. The reports we receive confirm the achievement of our research undertaken with the help of the musicians.

Tensions

Corelli Crystal strings come in 3 tensions : MEDIUM LIGHT, MEDIUM and HIGH. The MEDIUM gauges is most often used, and on most of the instruments the same tension can be used for the 4 strings If the sounding qualities should not give complete satisfaction, in all cases the use of a LIGHT or HIGH tension can improve the sound in a final positive way. The definition of the tensions enable the use of different tensions from a string to another for the same instrument.

Choice

Due to their sounding characteristics, the Corelli Crystal strings can be mixed with steel as well as gut strings or even with Corelli Alliance Vivace strings. This advantage offers additional possibilities of balance of the instrument and sound.

3 - Individual strings wound on steel

The development of these strings dates back to several years ; Their success is being confirmed by the renewal of the demand, coming from instruments makers and musicians. for steel string without the usual metallic sound.

These strings offer a number of innovations that bear on the choice of the materials, the quality of steel and on the winding techniques to select the harmonics which are essential for the quality of the sound. As a result the strings offer a classic sound and do not have the usual metallic sound of steel strings, which is a bit hard and aggressive.

In developing these strings, we committed our experience and our technological knowledge to obtain a string that enhances the qualities of the instrument and that offers the response under bow that musicians are looking for. Its warm sound, its enriched tone, without aggressiveness, which allow using them in association with gut strings or with the Corelli Alliance Vivace KF strings or nylon strings.
